Economy of Nature
- Waste, litter, and land fill are un-natural concepts to Earth's support systems and product flows. Everything is used: The tree sheds its leaves--man even calls this leaf litter; However the soil systems view this as food (Nutrient). As the soil systems perform their work they also produce downline resources in the form of nutrients that the tree consumes as food to produce the
fruits and nuts humans consume as nutrients to live: an Eco-integrated natural
system.
- Nutrients are the $currency$ of nature.
Industrial Economy
- Humans, on the other hand, interupt the bounty of $nutrient$ flow with a dirty little word--waste. We extract the Earth's limited natural resources to create comfort, mobility and prosperity and then trash them into the air, food, water and landfill: never to be available for human prosperity again.
- It is like withdrawing from the bank and never depositing. The bounty of nutrients are esentially dis-integrated from nature's life support system.
- And that is what is happining to our our children's future prosperity--it is disintegrating: the industrial economy is an Eco-degrading system: economic AND ecologic.
Post-industrial (Green) Economy
- But the good news is that we can take with us, into the future, the bounty of the industrial age and transform it into a system that not only sustains the eco-systems (plural) that keep humans alive, but regenerates the eco-systems that the industrial economy has already degraded--WOW what cool technology is coming.
- What if: our factories cleaned the air and water as they produced nutritious products;
- What if: our transportation systems produced water and oxygen instead of green house gases;
- What if: our businesses produced economic AND community AND environmental profits (3BL).
- More Good News, this is not science fiction. It is already happening.
- The emerging Green Economy will be ushered in through a transformation of
- the products we use,
- the way they are made,
- and the way we use and reuse, and reuse...................them.
